Manager - Software Engineering
Experience level – 10 plus years of hands-on and managerial experience
Position: Full Time

organization the ability to leverage existing security components and internal IT
resources to deliver a comprehensive real-time monitoring, reporting and rapid
response managed security solution. SecurView continues to serve number of clients
in financial services, state, local, retail, and manufacturing industries.
SecurView offers an exciting opportunity for a qualified professional with the right
combination of management leadership and hands-on experience to lead a team of
software engineers in delivering multi-service multi-tenant managed services
platform. The managed services platform (MSP) is used by growing number of
channel partners as well as customers. The vision of MSP is to deliver various
services such as security event monitoring, vulnerability assessment, network scan,
availability monitoring, performance monitoring, incident and change management
for enterprise customers.
Major responsibilities:
Integration and Core platform: The major responsibilities of this position are to
integrate the managed services platform with various third party applications such as
security management, network management, helpdesk, etc.; and to develop core
platform which is used by SecurView SOC, partners and customers to manage
various aspects of services delivery.
Other important roles and responsibilities:
- Will lead a team of 10-15 software engineering and SMEs to Design and
deliver quality release/s of new product/s as well as maintenance of existing
releases
- Work with product managers to define product releases.
- Will have responsibility for multiple complex systems including central server
and distributed technology
- Ensures timely delivery of releases within allocated budgets. Practice
appropriate resource prioritization and allocation
- Provides necessary guidance to software engineers to design, code and test
- Takes ownership of escalated issues, decide between competing solutions and
arbitrates between project teams in a release.
- Will be the technical development lead on a project/release team
- Involved in mentoring technical (perhaps Scrum) teams on design and coding
best practices, portlet design, service-oriented architecture (SOA), and reuse
opportunities.
- Performs detailed estimates and drives on practical work breakdown to allow
releases and projects to take advantage of reuse, standard
designs/frameworks
- Create a supportive team-oriented work climate that enables team members
to develop professionally and that values diversity, promotes teamwork and
collaboration, and emphasizes quality, customer satisfaction, creativity, and
cost effectiveness
Required Skills and Professional Experience (10 Years+):
- Expert level - Java (J2SE & J2EE), C
- Expert level - Experience with Linux and Open Source tools for software
development, Portal technologies
- Expert level - Java web development skills and excellent understanding of
object-oriented analysis / design / programming
- Expert Level - Integration technology such as Web Services, SOAP, XML,
APIs, SDKs
- Expert Level – Deep understanding of web application design/web security
- Expert Level – Database design, performance tuning in relational databases
such as Oracle, Oracle RAC, Postgres, MSSQL
- Must be hands on with web based various technology
- Development or integration experience with one or more enterprise system
and service management products like HP Openview, Unicenter , Tivoli
- Use of best practices such as for Software Life Cycle Development (SDLC)
methodologies
- Requirement analysis, functional specification, design, coding, Unit
testing, QA & QC,
- Software documentation, and Maintenance
- Preferably delivered a major software product and managed lifecycle of a
release
- Experience working with off-shore company and distributed teams is plus
- Project planning, budgeting and resource management
- Good at building team and cultivating team work
- Skills to train and mentor developers
Qualification:
- BS Degree in computer Science, Computer Engineering, IS, electronics,
electrical or equivalent
Candidate is expected to work out of SecurView Pune, India office.
